Taxi Driver Training - Hackney Carriage and Private
Hire
Although regulations differ between local authorities, they must satisfy
themselves that any applicant is a fit and proper person before they issue a
licence.
Before you will be issued with a licence most local authorities will require
that you:-
Are at least 18
years old (some authorities you need to be 21 years old)
Have a medical check
which includes an eyesight test
Have a current UK
Driving Licence
Have a Criminal
Records Office check (CRB) not more than 3 months old
Pay the licensing
fee
You may also be required
to take a local area knowledge test.
In many local authority areas you will also be required to take a
Driving Standards Agency (DSA) approved Taxi Driving Test or a Diamond Taxi
Test.
Before taking a Driving Test it is recommended
that you invest in a driving course that enables you to pass the test on the
first attempt.
Your local
authority may limit the amount of times you can sit a test.
Taxi Driver Training Course
Train to become a Taxi or Private Hire driver with Lanes Training.
In collaboration with Diamond Advanced Motorist, we can train you to pass the
new Taxi/Private Hire DSA test or Diamond Taxi Test to enable you to work with
a Private Hire Company or start your own business as a Private Hire Operative
(Mini Cab).
We run a one day training course, priced very competitively at £175.00. If
you train together with a friend or colleague you can train jpintly for
£250.00, making a £100.00 saving on the day.
